Real estate transactions and closings

Real estate transactions and closings, backed by experience in property litigation.

We represent clients buying, selling, financing, leasing, and transferring real estate. Our work extends from the purchase agreement and title review through closing, and includes the resolution of disputes affecting ownership, possession, and contractual rights.

Transactions, title work, and closings

We draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, financing agreements, deeds, and other conveyance documents. We review titles and work to resolve title problems affecting a proposed sale, transfer, or financing.

Our real estate practice also includes landlord and tenant leases, covenants, eviction notices, and related documentation. We handle transactions involving business property and property held in an estate.

Property disputes

We represent clients in disputes over boundaries, ownership, possession, and real estate agreements. That work brings together the relevant deeds, surveys, contracts, and property history with the firm’s civil litigation experience.

When a transaction presents a contested title or contract issue, our attorneys can address the dispute alongside the underlying real estate work.

Preparing for a consultation

For a closing, have the property address, any signed purchase agreement, the proposed closing date, and the lender’s information available. For a dispute, existing deeds, surveys, notices, and correspondence are useful starting points.
